Edwin Tse is a photographer working in New York City. His landscape work is stark and minimal while his portrait work has a subtle beauty in simplicity. His mantra is "Guaranteed Fresh" and I would have to agree with him.

I am always attracted to architectural photography and photographer Scott Peterman has a wonderful portfolio. Represented by Higher Pictures in New York, I am especially drawn to Peterman's series of ice fishing shacks. There is a beautiful minimalist quality to them that makes them almost other worldly. via Beautiful Decay

Library of Congress on Flickr

I am definitely a fan of Flickr and this news was exciting to hear. The Library of Congress is now using the photo sharing site for part of its vast archive of images. Currently with more than 3000 photos documenting the 1910s, 30s and 40s. This is an amazing glimpse of history. via core77

Core Memory

Mark Richards, originally uploaded by twenty2woblog.

Photographer Mark Richards has released a photography book documenting vintage computer equipment, called the Core Memory. The images remind us that all computers were not dull gray boxes in their early life. I find the complexity of the computer guts intriguing and the colors on some of the retro machine consoles down right brilliant. The book is available at Amazon.

Miguel Osuna

Miguel Osuna, originally uploaded by twenty2woblog.

Last night I went to downtown Los Angeles for the monthly art walk. On the second Thursday of the month about thirty galleries participate in the self-guided walking tour. I didn't make it to all but I would have to say my favorite work was from Miguel Osuna. His paintings of freeway overpasses are what really caught my eye. His studio/gallery space at 410 South Main was an amazing space in a building from 1914. If you are in LA try and make it to an art walk one month.

A wonderful collection here in the portfolio of Holger Pooten. The German born photographer now works out of London and has been building up quite the list of clients including Adidas and Nike. There is a series of exploding objects that reminds me of some of the drawings we had to do back in Architecture school. Brilliant execution and a much deserved New Photographer of 2007 by Getty Images.

Sean McGaughey

Sean McGaughey, originally uploaded by twenty2woblog.

Another mixed media work, this time by Sean McGaughey. When I first saw his painting I thought it was a Barry McGee, one of my favorite artists. Sean's work is about the dialogue he has while painting. The process of making the painting shows through even after covering up 'mistakes'. The finished product is far from a mistake however. Read an interview here.
