Along the same vein as my last post is Olaf Hauschulz's project titled "My Little World". This series of images is captured as Olaf travels the world shooting for different agencies. There are beautiful photographs that would make a wonderful book.

This is an image from Jan Fassbender and it is both beautiful and sad. Jan's landscape photography is amazing but at the same time I get a foreboding feeling. I am not sure if it's the color or the scale or emptiness, whatever it is these images grab me.

This collaboration project resulted from a nice use of Processing and photography. Tom Carden's work has been generated with Processing based on attractors and particles creating the smoke-like patterns. Clayton Cubitt then took those images and directed his models to compose his images to flow with Carden's work. The results are spectacular. Here is a better explanation of this process.

Kim Holtermand's photography is wonderful. His images have a stark but beautiful feel to them and the slightly muted color tones are great.

If you wanted to take aerial photos then being a pilot would make for a great advantage. Alex MacLean has used this combination to beautiful results. Documenting the world from the air has been a valuable tool in studying our relationship with the land. MacLean has published seven books on the topic. If you can't be a pilot you can always get a kite.

I am always attracted to architectural photography and photographer Scott Peterman has a wonderful portfolio. Represented by Higher Pictures in New York, I am especially drawn to Peterman's series of ice fishing shacks. There is a beautiful minimalist quality to them that makes them almost other worldly. via Beautiful Decay

Sqweegie is the work of Anthony Newman coming to us from Australia. What caught me first was his Dangerous Diary full of random collages but his photography work is brilliant as well. Be sure to take a look as his portfolio site. via cool hunting

Photographer Mark Richards has released a photography book documenting vintage computer equipment, called the Core Memory. The images remind us that all computers were not dull gray boxes in their early life. I find the complexity of the computer guts intriguing and the colors on some of the retro machine consoles down right brilliant. The book is available at Amazon.

A wonderful collection here in the portfolio of Holger Pooten. The German born photographer now works out of London and has been building up quite the list of clients including Adidas and Nike. There is a series of exploding objects that reminds me of some of the drawings we had to do back in Architecture school. Brilliant execution and a much deserved New Photographer of 2007 by Getty Images.

A few months back a friend of mine launched her portfolio site and after a brief chat yesterday I was reminded to show her a little love. Stephanie Halmos is a talented young fine arts photographer based out of New York. She has a great passion for the art and creates brilliant images, but I will let her work speak for itself.
